Etymology
Origin: Ancient Greek
From Arabic طَحِينَة (ṭaḥīna), from the root ط ح ن (ṭ-ḥ-n) related to grinding. Final -i most probably from North Levantine dialects or from Greek ταχίνι (tachíni).
