Etymology
Origin: Ancient Greek
From Swedish trona or from Spanish trona, both derived from Arabic أَطْرُون (ʔaṭrūn), from نَطْرُون (naṭrūn), from Ancient Greek νίτρον (nítron), ultimately from Egyptian nṯrj: R9. Doublet of natron and niter.
